  I grew up at Taylor. It was there where it all started for me, and how I became a great musician. My love for the Organ is because of Taylor Church. Here are some of the main factors: 1. My mother sang in various choirs there even while she was pregnant with me. And I even enjoyed going to Choir rehearsals with my Mom too. Because I got to sit next to the Organist in the Choir Stand. 2. Great Organists at Taylor we had during my childhood (Maxine Blackburn, Rochon Hemmans, Alex Jackson, Lucy Kinchen and Terrry Simmons. The music was always beautiful there when these particular individuals were at the Organ. And this is why I was so inspired to become a complete organist. Prolific in the Pipe Organ for Classical Music, and the Hammond B3 for Gospel. The Sanctuary as you can see in the photo above) has always been beautiful to me. But theSactuary's original construction prior to 1976 was even more beautiful. The bottom line is, Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church will always have a special place in my heart.
